In Morocco, several institutes under the Ministry of Health are undertaking health-related biotechnology activities. The Pasteur Institute of Morocco, National Hygiene Institute and Centre for Transfusion are actively involved in research areas pertaining to human genetics, genetic basis of allergies, genetic diagnosis of infectious diseases and blood molecular biology. The Ministry of Research is aiming to establish a network of institutes working on related subjects.
